How to apply to a masters program in engineering?
I am currently in my third year at the university of Lagos. I have two more years to go hopefully if there is no strike. I will like to know how easy its is to get into a masters program in engineering.
Hello Calmdown, I will assume you are talking about application to schools in the U.S. Well, if you are interested in a graduate program in engineering, there are tones of schools that offers that in America and other countries. Whichever country you are interested in going to pursue your masters degree program in engineering, there are some things that are common to all. These include sending your undergraduate transcripts to the school (usually directly by your school – in your case UNILAG), submitting an online application (which include a statement of purpose, letter of recommendation from your professors) and sending you admissions test scores (this inclide GRE and or TOEFL, or IELTS in case of England and or Canada). So, you might want to start preparing to take the admissions tests like GRE and TOEFL since you are still in your third year. I hope this help.
@Calmdown, there is no bad time to take the tests. However, it is imperative to note that these tests have expiration period, as the Test of English as Foreign Language is only valid for 2years , while the Graduate Record Exam(GRE) is only valid for 5years. Hence, I would advise you finish your undergraduate first before sitting for the tests.
