    Although, I was not born at the time you are referring to but history had it that Elton John had been releasing hits for 27 years when Candle In The Wind was released in September 1997 as a tribute single, which was dedicated to the late Princess Dianna  sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He is undoubtedly has achieved a huge success in musical theatre.
